***CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER, NOT EXPECTED TO SHIP IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS*** This mural is of the third iteration of the bridge between Belle Isle and mainland Detroit. The first bridge was constructed from 1887 to 1889, and opened 25 June 1889. The original burned down 27 April 1915, and was a complete loss. A temporary wooden bridge was erected next to the burned bridge a year later. This bridge would remain until the current bridge was built.
In February 1984, a renovation of the bridge was underway. It would be the first time that any major renovations had taken place since the bridge opened in the 1920s. The renovations completed, and the bridge was re-dedicated in December 1986.
